Concise schedule for Shrikhand Mahadev Trek
Day 1: Jaon Village to Singhad
Upon arrival at Jaon Village, located 170 km from Shimla by car, commence the trek to Singhad, just 3 km away. Throughout the trek, make sure to take periodic breaks for rest and acclimatization to the climate. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Singhad.
Day 2: Singhad to Barhati Nala
Start the day with breakfast before embarking on a trek through lush green forests towards Barhati Nala, alongside the Kurpan Khad. Upon reaching Barhati Nala, take in the beauty of the surroundings. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Barhati Nala.
Day 3: Barhati Nala to Thachru
After breakfast, set off on a trek to Thachru. Today’s journey involves navigating steep paths with sharp turns through dense forests until reaching a small open area with a temple. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at Thachru.
Day 4: Thachru to Kali Ghati
Following breakfast, trek towards Kali Ghati. The route becomes steeper with sharp trenches as the jungle gives way to shrubs, bushes, boulders, and small peaks. The terrain is dry and loose due to the absence of forests. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Kali Ghati.
Day 5: Kali Ghati to Bheem Duari
Begin the day with breakfast before trekking to Bheem Duari, the gateway to the next base camp at Parvati Bagicha. This stretch of the trek is particularly enjoyable, featuring cascading waterfalls, small hills, and undulating terrains. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at Bheem Duari.
Day 6: Bheem Duari to Parvati Bagh
After breakfast, embark on a trek to Parvati Bagicha, one of the most picturesque stretches of the Shrikhand Mahadev Trek. This leg of the journey offers an upright walk through lush foliage, colorful wildflowers, and numerous water streams before reaching the Shrikhand Mahadev peak.
Day 7: Parvati Bagicha to Nayan Sarovar
Following breakfast, trek to Nayan Sarovar, an inclined climb through a path adorned with large rocks and beautiful wildflowers. Enjoy the serene surroundings and natural beauty along the way.
Day 8: Nayan Sarovar to Shrikhand Mahadev Peak
The trek route offers a stunning and breathtaking view of the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak after breakfast. The slopes are extremely steep and nearly vertical, with a few glaciers and low oxygen levels, making this stretch the most difficult and challenging part of the entire trek route.
Upon reaching the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak, you will need to traverse the renowned “Bheem Ki Sidhiyan” or “Stairs of Bheem” to return to the base-camp at Jaon Village.
